COPA BRIDGESTONE LIBERTADORES 2015

Copa Libertadores 2015 (Officially called Copa Bridgestone Libertadores 2015 for sponsorship reasons) is the 56th edition of the most important tournament in America, It is organized by CONMEBOL (Confederacion Sudamericana de Futbol), the South Amercan Football/Soccer Confederation.

38 participating teams from eleven different countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

It will be held from February 3rd to August 5th. There will be a break between the quarterfinals and semifinals, during the making of the 2015 Copa America in Chile.

The champion, if from CONMEBOL (if not, it would be the runner-up. It is because Mexico belongs to CONCACAF: Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football), will play the FIFA Club World Cup 2015. The winner will also take part of the Recopa Sudamericana 2016, against the team champion of 2015 Copa Sudamericana (another South American competition), and qualify to the second round of Copa Libertadores 2016.

San Lorenzo de Almagro (Argentina) won the last tournament edition.
